Why Samini Included Stonebwoy, Kinaata and Kaakie on His New Album

Ghanaian reggae and dancehall artist Samini has shared insight into the collaborators he brought on his latest album titled Origin8A, highlighting why he chose to work with major acts such as Stonebwoy, Kofi Kinaata and Kaakie. This project has generated excitement among fans as it not only showcases Samini’s music but also celebrates relationships and influences within the Ghanaian music scene.
Samini’s eighth studio album Origin8A is deeply rooted in his personal musical journey and legacy. The album’s title itself represents his beginnings in music, his growth and his ongoing influence in shaping the sound of African dancehall. According to reports, the project features 16 tracks with several guest artists who have played significant roles in Ghanaian music over the years.
Stonebwoy appears multiple times on the album, and Samini’s decision to include him is rooted in their long-standing relationship and mutual respect. Stonebwoy’s impact on the reggae and dancehall industry in Ghana makes him a natural partner for collaboration, helping to bring energy and prominence to the project.
Kofi Kinaata’s participation reflects another meaningful connection. Samini was instrumental in Kinaata’s early career as part of the High Grade Family collective where Kinaata gained early exposure and industry mentorship. Including him on Origin8A allows Samini to acknowledge that history and honour Kinaata’s contributions to Ghanaian music.
Kaakie, a respected dancehall artist, also joins the project, adding her unique style and dynamism. Her feature expands the range of sounds and voices on the album and further bridges generations and musical influences within the Ghana music scene.
Samini has described Origin8A as more than just a collection of songs. It is a celebration of his career, influences and the artists who have walked alongside him through his musical evolution. Collaborating with strong talents like Stonebwoy, Kofi Kinaata and Kaakie reinforces the album’s message of community, respect and shared artistic growth
