Asiedu Nketiah’s son posts cryptic message amid NDC flagbearership race

Charles Akwesi Asiedu, a Member of Parliament for the Tano South Constituency and son of National Democratic Congress (NDC) chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, has triggered reactions online with a mysterious message as the party’s flagbearer race intensifies.

In a post on social media, Asiedu wrote words that many party supporters believe hint at his father’s potential involvement in the upcoming NDC presidential primary. Although he did not explicitly name any candidate, observers interpret the message as a suggestion that his father could play a leading role as the party prepares for the next general election cycle.

The NDC is expected to hold internal elections to choose its presidential candidate for the 2028 general poll. While current and former party leaders, including President John Dramani Mahama who has already served two terms, remain central figures, there is speculation about other party members emerging as strong contenders for the flagbearer position.

Asiedu’s post has generated mixed reactions on social media, with some party supporters reading into the message as a direct push for his father’s leadership ambitions, while others caution that it may simply be a show of respect or encouragement.

Political watchers say comments like these reflect the high level of public interest and debate surrounding the future direction of NDC leadership ahead of the 2028 elections
