Your Turn Is Coming: Afenyo-Markin Promises To Reveal Fraud By Senior Official Linked To Mockery Of Ofori Atta

Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin has vowed to expose what he describes as fraudulent behaviour by a senior government official he says is connected to public mockery of former finance minister Ken Ofori-Atta. Afenyo-Markin made the comments as part of a wider criticism of conduct by some officials in the current government and their treatment of political figures from the previous administration.

Addressing supporters and party members recently, Afenyo-Markin said his team has uncovered evidence pointing to deliberate actions by the unnamed official that go beyond ordinary political disagreement. He suggested that the actions were misleading and potentially unlawful, and said he plans to make these details public when investigations are complete.

The Minority Leader did not mention the name of the official he is accusing, but he insisted that “your turn is coming” for those involved in what he termed derogatory attacks against Ofori-Atta. His remarks reflect mounting tensions between the opposition and the ruling National Democratic Congress government over political discourse and accountability.

Ofori-Atta, who served as finance minister until recently, has been at the centre of various debates over economic policy and performance, attracting both criticism and defence from different political camps. Afenyo-Markin’s comments suggest opposition pressure is increasing to hold senior officials to account for their words and actions.

There has been no official response from the government or the individual Afenyo-Markin referred to. It remains unclear when the promised evidence will be presented to the public or relevant oversight bodies. Political observers say the coming days could bring further developments as both sides prepare for ongoing debate ahead of future elections.
