Us Based Ghanaian Man Dies After Being Struck By Tractor Trailer While Clearing Snow From His Car

A Ghanaian man living in the United States has died after being hit by a tractor trailer while he was clearing snow from his vehicle on the side of a highway in New York State. The state police say the incident occurred early on Sunday morning when 36-year-old Lawrence Agyemang was working to remove snow that had accumulated around his car.
According to the New York State Police, Agyemang was standing near his parked vehicle on Interstate 84 in the town of Patterson when a tractor trailer truck approached his location. The truck struck him, and he sustained fatal injuries at the scene. Police confirmed that he was pronounced dead shortly after the collision.
The truck driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators, police said. No charges have been filed at this time, and the crash remains under investigation as authorities work to determine the full circumstances that led to the tragedy.
Family members identified the victim as Agyemang, who was originally from Ghana and had been living and working in the United States. Relatives expressed profound shock and sorrow at the sudden loss, describing him as a caring person who was dedicated to supporting his family back home and loved spending time with his own children and extended family both in the United States and in Ghana.
Friends and community members have begun to share memories of Agyemang online, paying tribute to his kindness and generosity. Some described him as someone who was always willing to help others, no matter the circumstances. Many also raised concerns about road safety during winter weather conditions and urged drivers and authorities to take extra precautions when snow and ice make travel more dangerous.
The New York State Police urged anyone with information related to the case to contact the state police barracks in nearby Newburgh. They also asked people to remember snowy and icy conditions can greatly reduce visibility and control on highways, and to exercise extra caution in winter weather conditions.
