Kumasi Court Remands Actress Patricia Osei Boateng Over Connection With Sammy Gyamfi’s Father-in-Law Murder

A Kumasi circuit court has ordered the remand of Kumawood actress and film producer Patricia Osei Boateng after she was arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of Goldbod CEO Sammy Gyamfi’s father-in-law, Andrews Amankwaa. The court ruling directs that she remain in custody for further police investigation.

Patricia Osei Boateng was taken into police custody after being linked to an ongoing probe into an armed robbery and murder that occurred in February in the Ashanti Region. Authorities allege that the incident, which resulted in the death of Amankwaa, is connected to a robbery syndicate allegedly led by her late husband, Eric Antwi Duku.

Police reports have indicated that four suspects in the carjacking and shooting case were arrested by the Ghana Police Service. Earlier operations by the Inspector General of Police Christian Tetteh Yohuno’s team led to multiple arrests related to the robbery and killing of Sammy Gyamfi’s father-in-law.

During attempts to arrest individuals linked to the case, Duku, who is regarded by police as the alleged leader of the criminal network, was killed in an exchange of gunfire with officers. Following his death, law enforcement agencies intensified efforts to determine the full extent of involvement by others associated with the syndicate.

Investigators have been gathering evidence and questioning witnesses as legal teams prepare for prosecution. The remand order allows security agencies more time to complete their investigation while the courts consider the charges that will be formally brought against Patricia Osei Boateng.

Public interest in the case remains high, and police have appealed to members of the public to come forward with information that could assist in closing gaps in the ongoing inquiry.
