Mussa Dankwah, Executive Director of the research group Global InfoAnalytics, has openly stated that he is risking his professional credibility by backing Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer race. Dankwah made the remarks while defending his confidence in Bawumia’s chances of winning the party’s upcoming presidential primary elections.
Speaking in a video that has circulated widely online, Dankwah said he believes Bawumia is the leading candidate and that his data supports that conclusion. He explained that his work and reputation are on the line because his prediction goes against the views of some other analysts and critics. According to him, he stands by his analysis despite facing pressure and doubt from opposing voices.
Dankwah has repeatedly argued that Bawumia’s ground support and campaign strategy place him in a strong position to win the NPP flagbearer contest. He said he understands that publicly staking his credibility on this outcome carries risk, especially if the result does not match his projections. That, he added, shows how confident he feels about his data interpretation and his belief in Bawumia’s prospects.
The pollster’s statement has drawn mixed reaction online. Some supporters of Bawumia praised Dankwah for speaking boldly about his belief in the former vice president’s chances. Others have criticised him, saying that analysts should remain neutral and avoid expressing personal endorsements when presenting polling data.
As the NPP moves closer to its flagbearer primaries, analysts like Dankwah remain in the spotlight. His comments highlight how political polling and public predictions can shape discussions around internal party races. Whether his confidence will be borne out in actual delegate support remains a topic of debate among party members and political observers.
