The Ghana Police Service has launched an investigation into the disappearance of a 27-year-old woman identified as Mariama Ibrahim, who reportedly went missing after leaving her boyfriend’s residence in Effiekuma in the Western Region.

According to police information, Mariama Ibrahim visited her boyfriend, Tijani Mohammed, on February 25, 2026. Reports indicate that she remained at the residence for several days before leaving the house on February 28. However, after departing from the residence, she was not seen again and has since been reported missing.

Family members reportedly became concerned when repeated attempts to reach her were unsuccessful. After several days without contact, the matter was reported to the police, prompting authorities to begin an investigation into her disappearance.

Police say preliminary inquiries have already begun as investigators work to establish the circumstances surrounding the young woman’s last known movements. Authorities are particularly focusing on the period after she left her boyfriend’s home, as that remains the last confirmed time she was seen.

The case has sparked concern among residents in the area, with many hoping that the missing woman will be found safe. Police have urged the public to provide any information that could assist in locating her or clarifying the events that led to her disappearance.

Authorities say individuals who may have seen Mariama Ibrahim or have knowledge about her whereabouts are encouraged to contact the nearest police station. Investigators believe that community cooperation could play a crucial role in helping them trace her movements and determine what may have happened after she left the residence.

Cases involving missing persons often require coordinated efforts between law enforcement agencies and the public. Police say they remain committed to pursuing all leads as the search for the missing woman continues.
