Inusah Fuseini Says Electorate Gave Government Mandate To Govern Differently

Deputy Attorney-General and Member of Parliament for Tamale Central Inusah Fuseini says Ghanaians gave the current government a clear mandate to govern differently from previous administrations when they went to the polls in the 2024 general election. He made this statement in response to questions about the government’s performance and expectations from the public. (ghanaweb.com

Speaking at a public event in Tamale, Mr Fuseini emphasised that the electorate’s decision was based on a desire for change in how governance and national affairs are managed. He said the people wanted fresh approaches to tackling issues such as economic stability, job creation and the delivery of public services, and that the government has a responsibility to meet those expectations. Mr Fuseini acknowledged that while it was important to respect the mandate given by voters, governing differently also comes with challenges and scrutiny. He said leaders must listen to criticism and be ready to explain policy choices, adding that constructive engagement between government and citizens is essential to democratic progress. (ghanaweb.com

He noted that the idea of governing differently does not mean abandoning accountability but rather embracing solutions that reflect the people’s will. Mr Fuseini urged Ghanaians to remain patient and to continue holding public officials responsible while allowing space for government initiatives to take root
