Ghana Music Awards USA Honours Five Prominent Figures As Life Patrons

The organisers of the Ghana Music Awards USA (GMA-USA) have recognised five distinguished individuals as Life Patrons of the awards scheme in appreciation of their longstanding support for Ghanaian music and culture in the diaspora.
According to the organisers, the Life Patron title is reserved for individuals who have consistently contributed to the promotion and growth of Ghanaian music beyond the country’s borders, particularly in the United States.
Chief Operating Officer of the awards scheme, Emmanuel Kusi Mensah, explained that the recognition is meant to celebrate individuals who have invested their time, expertise, and resources in supporting the global visibility of Ghanaian music. He described the honourees as cultural ambassadors whose efforts have helped strengthen the presence of Ghanaian artistes on the international stage.
The five personalities honoured as Life Patrons are Isaac Ampem Darko, Vida Djorgee, Isaac Kwabena Ofori Amoako, Sabaina Dugan, and Sandra Adom. Each of them has played various roles in supporting Ghanaian music, cultural initiatives, and community development within the diaspora.
Isaac Ampem Darko, the Chief Executive Officer of Darkxlyn Company Ltd, is a civil engineer and entrepreneur with more than two decades of experience in engineering and consultancy. Through his professional and community activities, he has also supported projects that promote Ghanaian culture abroad.
Vida Djorgee, founder and Chief Operating Officer of Essential Quality Care in Oregon, has over 23 years of experience in healthcare and has also supported initiatives that promote Ghanaian culture and music in the United States.
Businessman and philanthropist Isaac Kwabena Ofori Amoako, Chief Executive Officer of the Ike City Group of Companies, was also honoured for his contributions and support for initiatives that uplift Ghanaian talent internationally.
The other recipients include Sabaina Dugan, a registered nurse and media entrepreneur who promotes Ghanaian gospel music in the American entertainment space, and Sandra Adom, a family nurse practitioner and professor who has supported the wellbeing of performers and participants at the awards event.
Chief Executive Officer of GMA-USA Dennis Boafo expressed appreciation to the honourees, stating that their dedication and passion continue to strengthen the awards scheme and the promotion of Ghanaian music globally.
The organisers added that the Life Patrons will be celebrated throughout the year as part of efforts to highlight their contributions to the growth of Ghanaian music and culture in the diaspora.
