Clarification from the Direct Family of the Late Charles Kwadwo Fosuh (Daddy Lumba)

The direct family of the late Ghanaian music legend Charles Kwadwo Fosuh, widely known as Daddy Lumba, has issued an official press release to clarify misleading information circulating about his funeral arrangements and marital status.

In a statement dated October 9, 2025, the family expressed disappointment over the unauthorized publication of funeral details by Abusuapanyin Kofi Wusu and the funeral committee without consulting the deceased’s immediate family. According to the release, learning about the funeral through social media was distressing, as the legal wife, Mrs. Akosua Serwah Fosuh, and her children were not informed. The family emphasized that such actions show a lack of respect and disregard for proper procedures.

The family confirmed that Mr. Fosuh passed away on July 26, 2025, in Accra. Since his passing, there has been a deliberate effort to marginalize the wedded wife in funeral-related matters, an act described as unacceptable and contrary to both cultural and moral standards.

Addressing false claims about the singer’s marital life, the statement clarified that Mr. Fosuh was legally married to Mrs. Akosua Serwah Fosuh on December 23, 2004, in Bornheim, Germany. Under German law, no man who is already married can legally marry another woman, making any claims of a second marriage false and invalid.

The family announced that they have filed a court injunction to suspend all funeral and burial arrangements until proper consultation is achieved.

They further thanked fans for their continued support and urged the public to disregard any unofficial funeral announcements. Official updates will be released through recognized family channels.
