Chez Amis CEO Denies NACOC Arrest Claims And Clears Name

The Chief Executive Officer of Chez Amis restaurant has publicly addressed and rejected online rumours claiming she was arrested by the Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) in connection with a drug smuggling case. Taking to Snapchat, the CEO firmly denied any involvement in illegal activity and said the allegations linking her to a cocaine smuggling case are completely unfounded.

The social media speculation reportedly began after operatives of NACOC arrested a senior manager of a major Ghanaian food company at Kotoka International Airport for allegedly attempting to smuggle illicit substances concealed in a shipment. Some netizens then mistakenly connected the arrest to the Chez Amis CEO, spreading rumours that she was also taken into custody.

In her Snapchat video, the CEO, often referred to by fans as Big Cheezy, appeared at her restaurant in East Legon and vehemently denied the arrest claims. She called the circulating stories “false and baseless” and showed her presence at work to prove she was not detained as alleged online.

Her response has sparked mixed reactions on social media. Some followers defended her and criticised the spread of unverified information, while others called for caution until official details are confirmed by authorities. The situation highlights how quickly misinformation can spread online and the reputational impact it can have on public figures when rumours take hold without evidence.

At this stage there has been no official confirmation connecting the Chez Amis CEO to the NACOC case beyond online speculation. Meanwhile, the legal process involving the arrested food company manager continues under investigation by the relevant authorities.
