Akosua Serwaa Files For Letters Of Administration Over Daddy Lumba’s Estate As Odo Broni’s Team Responds

Akosua Serwaa has taken a fresh legal step in the ongoing dispute surrounding the estate of late highlife icon Daddy Lumba by filing an application for letters of administration. This legal process, if granted, would give her authority to manage and oversee the properties and assets left behind by the celebrated musician.

The application was reportedly filed shortly after Serwaa returned to Ghana from Germany, where she had been living. Upon her arrival, she proceeded to Kumasi to initiate the legal process at the appropriate probate court. Her move has reignited public interest in the long running legal and family dispute that has followed Daddy Lumba’s passing.

However, the process has not gone uncontested. Lawyers representing Priscilla Ofori, popularly known as Odo Broni, have filed a legal challenge against the application. This challenge effectively places a hold on Serwaa’s request until the court hears and determines the objections raised. The development means that no single party currently has sole authority over the late musician’s estate.

This latest court action follows an earlier ruling in which the High Court recognized both Akosua Serwaa and Odo Broni as surviving spouses of Daddy Lumba under Ghanaian law. That decision established that both women have equal legal standing in matters related to funeral arrangements and estate administration. It also dismissed claims that one party alone should be considered the lawful spouse.

The renewed legal battle has sparked widespread discussion among fans and observers, with many closely monitoring how the courts will resolve the matter. Until a final determination is made, Daddy Lumba’s estate remains under legal restraint, pending further judicial direction.
