Agya Koo Says Dr Frank Amoakohene Has Not Made Any Significant Impact Yet

Veteran Kumawood actor Agya Koo has stirred public debate after openly stating that he has not seen any remarkable achievements from Dr Frank Amoakohene since he assumed office as Ashanti Regional Minister.

Speaking in a recent interview, the outspoken actor expressed disappointment, claiming that he has neither seen nor heard of any major initiatives or visible progress under the minister’s leadership so far. His comments have quickly gained traction online, with many Ghanaians weighing in on the matter.

Agya Koo, who is known for his strong political opinions, clarified that his remarks were not rooted in political bias but rather his personal observation as a citizen. He explained that although he has affiliations, he prioritises national development and is always willing to acknowledge good work regardless of which political party is in power.

According to him, in previous administrations, he did not hesitate to publicly commend projects and policies he believed benefited the creative industry and the country as a whole. However, he insisted that in this case, he has not seen enough to praise.

The actor also suggested that there appears to be a disconnect between the minister and stakeholders in the creative arts sector. He claimed that he has not been invited to key meetings or engagements, adding that he is often unaware of any initiatives involving the industry.

Despite his criticism, Agya Koo noted that he is withholding final judgment on the current government’s overall performance. He stated that it would be more appropriate to assess the administration fully after it completes its term, rather than making conclusive statements too early.

His remarks have since sparked mixed reactions, with some agreeing with his concerns while others argue that it may be too soon to evaluate the minister’s impact. The discussion continues to highlight broader expectations for leadership, accountability, and visible development within the Ashanti Region.
