Omotola Says She And Genevieve Were Never In A Feud

Veteran Nigerian actress Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde has publicly addressed long-standing rumours that she had a feud with fellow Nollywood star Genevieve Nnaji. In an interview during a radio appearance, Omotola clarified that the alleged conflict between them was never real and that the two women were never enemies.
According to Omotola, the idea that she and Genevieve were at odds with each other came largely from fans and media. She explained that people in the entertainment industry often like to compare and pitch successful stars against one another, which can create tension where none exists. Omotola used examples from the music world, saying that competition narratives are common and can become exaggerated over time.
Omotola said that she and Genevieve have spoken normally and maintained a professional working relationship. She emphasised that not being best friends does not mean they were in conflict. In her own words, “people do not need to be best friends,” but she dismissed the suggestion that they were ever in a serious disagreement.
The two actresses, both highly respected in Nollywood, have worked in the same industry for many years and have appeared in major films together, including the movie Ijé: The Journey. Despite this, fans have historically speculated about their relationship, often without evidence. Omotola denied that any feud ever took place and urged the public not to read too much into comparisons between successful stars.
