Miss Intercontinental Ghana Winner Drags Pageant Organisers To Court After Title Is Revoked

The Miss Intercontinental Ghana 2025 winner has taken legal action against the organisers of the national pageant after her crown was controversially withdrawn weeks after she was crowned during the competition held in November 2025.
Medical doctor and professional model Chiaky Otuteye, who had earned the title and was expected to represent Ghana at the international Miss Intercontinental pageant in Egypt in January 2026, filed a lawsuit against Cloudz Entertainment, the event organisers, accusing them of unfairly stripping her of the crown without clear justification.
Chiaky says she was informed of the title withdrawal in an emergency meeting with pageant officials and her mother, during which she was told the decision was made because “concerned people” had complained that she did not meet the standards for international competition. The organisers allegedly presented a document citing subjective criteria such as poise, beauty, charm, intelligence and body, without offering clear evidence of how she failed to meet them.
The former queen has argued in court that the basis for her removal was vague and unfair, particularly considering she fulfilled eligibility requirements such as being a natural-born female, a Ghanaian national and meeting body criteria.
Chiaky also highlighted the social media bullying she faced before the title was revoked, where she was subjected to negative comments about her looks and ability to hold the crown. This online harassment, she says, should not have been used as a reason to strip her of her hard-won title.
In an official statement, Cloudz Entertainment confirmed that they had appointed a new representative for Ghana’s participation at the Miss Intercontinental pageant, saying the change was due to “unforeseen circumstances” and expressing confidence in the new queen. They have not yet publicly addressed Chiaky’s legal claims.
The case is expected to be heard in court on February 24, 2026, where judges will consider her claims and determine whether the revocation of her title was lawful.
